A documentary film about Maija Isola, the designer of Finland’s most beloved fabrics. Her bold designs, which include classics like Unikko, Kivet, Kaivo and Melooni, were essential in creating Marimekko’s lifestyle universe.
Documentary is written and directed by Leena Kilpeläinen and produced by Merja Ritola.
Festival run has started with Love & Anarchy film festival in Helsinki in September 2021.
2022 will bring plethora of festivals and screenings for the documentary :
Dhaka International Film Festival (Bangladesh), Kumu Art Museum (Estonia), Vera Film Festival (Finland), Montreal - The International Festival of Films and Art (Canada), Winnipeg Architecture & Design Film Festival (Canada).
Documentary will have Finnish premiere in March 2022.
