Iisa Arvelin

Production Coordinator

Iisa Arvelin is currently working as Production Coordinator of Greenlit's Lex Julia feature film. Arvelin has a background in both filmmaking and anthropology.  She graduated from the University of Helsinki as an anthropologist specialised in the audiovisual industry, visuality, and design. Her master's thesis discusses the state of the Finnish film industry in the 2020s and the value of a film from the filmmakers’ perspective, i.e. the meaning of work.

To combine her anthropological curiosity with her creativity and audiovisual visions, Arvelin studied documentary filmmaking at the University College London. She also accomplished the 2nd Assistant Director training of Blockbusters Gang 2023. Since 2020 Arvelin has worked with films: first as a representative of Finland in the jury of Giornate degli Autori at the Venice International Film Festival, later Communications Coordinator for Espoo Ciné International Film Festival, and recently as Production Assistant as well as Project Assistant for two sustainability projects dedicated to improve the sustainability and occupational well-being in the Finnish audiovisual industry.

Therefore, Arvelin has gained expertise in sustainability topics of the AV industry – and is eager to be part of the positive change. With her positive and empathic attitude, Arvelin contributes greatly to the project’s success by creating an environment which is structured yet supportive.
